Mark has over 20 years experience across the media, entertainment, digital and technology sectors.

He began his career with the arrival in Australia of subscription television and for many years acted for channels set up by the likes of Disney, Warners, Roadshow, MGM, Discovery and Universal. He also represented EMI in music publishing for over a decade. He has worked in-house for an Australian broadcaster and in London for a large commercial law firm.

His clients today are involved in all facets of financing, creating and commercialising content.

Mark’s clients are drawn from 3 core areas:

Content – Screen (film & TV), Game, Music

  • Finance & Production – Mark has particular expertise in media finance and represents a number of banks, financiers, government funders and private equity interests. Alongside this he acts for a number of producers, production houses and studios. He has advised on hundreds of TV and film productions; from large budget studio features to award winning, locally produced TV animations. In games Mark represents developers and publishers as well as assisting the Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (iGEA).
  • Distribution & Transmission – From a start in subscription television, Mark’s clients in distribution and transmission now cover the ambit from film and TV distributors to the new breed of subscription platforms for music and screen content.

Digital & Online

Mark is a longstanding board member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (iAB) and has unique insight into online advertising. He brings this experience to bear in his work for publishers, media buyers, agencies and a broader set of digital clients.

Technology

Mark’s technology clients include engineers, software providers, digital businesses in travel, search, education and other service areas.

In addition to his core areas of practice, Mark’s broad experience enables him to assist a diverse set of clients seeking assistance in general corporate and commercial transactions.
