  • acting for the author of a book about advance care directives in relation to a copyright dispute in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia (this matter is ongoing in the courts)
  • acting for an internationally known Magnum photographer in a copyright and moral rights infringement case in the Federal Circuit Court (Pellegrin v Fairfax Media Ltd and Ors) SYG 321/2015
  • acting for the owner of a painting and his agent in an Administrative Appeals Tribunal case involving the refusal of an export permit under the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Act 1986 (Cth) (Drew v Minister for Communications and the Arts) AAT 2015/5093
  • acting for GFS Corporation Aus Pty Ltd in successfully resisting oppositions by TRAC Construction Group Pty Ltd to the GFS BIOPROTECT logo and the GFS BIOPROTECT word mark applications. These were successfully defended and the marks are now proceeding to registration
  • acting for the estate of Max Dupain successfully resisting a trade mark opposition (B.J White & Wellington Lane Press Pty Ltd & John v Rex Dupain [2007] ATMO 52
  • initiating proceedings for the manager of Holly Valance in a breach of contract claim which lead to a substantial damages award to the manager (Biscayne Partners Pty Ltd v Valance Corp Pty Ltd and Ors [2003] NSWSC 874)
  • acting for Ice TV Pty Ltd in landmark copyright case that was determined in the High Court (IceTV Pty Limited v Nine Network Australia Pty Limited [2009] HCA 14) at first instance
  • acting for Larrikin Music in relation to “Kookaburra Sits in the old Gum Tree” on the question of ownership of copyright (Larrikin Music Publishing Pty Ltd v EMI Songs Australia Pty Limited [2009] FCA 799)
